keepwalking's News

Posted by keepwalking - August 29th, 2013

Hello guys, long time since I updated my account, from works to news and journals.

Now going directly to the point of this journal in matter, I am going to try to clarify some of the reasons for the above recently mentioned and I am going to be as honest as possible. During the last 2 or 3 years I have been growing economically, and raising positions in big companies as a front end developer and web designer, and had to travel long distances to reach the office in a very uncomfortable crowded subway which left me with very little time for studying and painting. At the begging it felt great, it was good, I was ok with it, but eventually things turned up to be like anything I have ever expected. I started to feel more and more sick every month; 3 bronchitis, flu, Pharyngitis and pneumonia were some of the diseases I had all in just about 6 months.
Recently I assumed a great position in my new company and the situation went from bad to worse, as if my body was actually begging me to stop doing something, I started to faint and feel sick reaching the point of having a stroke risk which implied that I may die If I continue like this. At this point I had to drop art and university(which was everything I loved in this life) and just concentrate on my job, simply because my mind was burned out from all the things I was doing. I was hospitalized several times, run through several tests, and they found nothing, anything at all. Stress was their explanation. Just stress...

So...I started to question my life in many aspects like money, happiness, love, work, art... and figured out after many days of thinking that this situation was not what I wanted. I started to ask many people how they face these situations, or if they even experienced them at all. Well... as a result of my kind of desperate survey for intelligent answers, every single person I talked to about this said: "yes...but you just have to deal with it"

It was the most depressing thing I have ever heard, people live their lives hating their jobs, feeling sick because of it, loosing target on their dreams and achievements in life (if they actually have some) at the cost of buying things things they don't really need, to impress people they don't really know, to feel happy about it. But every one knows money doesn't buy happiness, it sure gives the illusion, but it really doesn't.

So why bothering doing all this...

There were friends that supported me and endless messages from a couple of popular videos like this one from Alan Watts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rApGnn_tLwo
that told me to "just do what you want", and this was kind of new to me. It was strange. It was scary. Aren't we supposed to all do the same thing?, aren't we supposed to go to an office stare at our screen for 9 hours straight and return back home to sleep and do the same the day after?, Wasn't this what everyone teach us in school?, that we have to live like that for the rest of our lives...?

Well, I fortunately made my choice, and I choose to live doing what I love to doing. Which is art.
And I refuse to follow the same path everyone is following just to get a couple more bucks on their pockets.
I don't know how much time I could live from art, but its worth trying, it definitely is.

I know I should keep this journal with professionalism and giving you super awesome news, but I guessed you guys should know this, that I'm just a human being like everyone else. Perhaps some of you experienced or are going through the same situation, and you find some answers on this journal. I will love to hear your story if so...

Thank you for reading

:)

I am in a verry good mood and I want to know some cool ideas sooooo.....
I will take 1 request, and only one, throw your best idea for an artwork, it can be a charachter or a scenery.
The best idea wins. :)

NOTE: if you ask for a goat eating grass next to a satue of your mom the probability of winning is -457

Sup Newgrounds!,
Im giving you guys a quick update about a couple of things that happened during these last weeks.
Starting with the prime publishing, as the title says, 2 of my works were selected to be part of this incredible book of digital works. Its trully an honor to be part of such an amazing group of artist around the world, and also to share my works with so many people like this. The works choosen are Drone 42 and Illuminate my soul. The book is still not out, but I will let you know how and when you can get it.
Related to this is the next news, wich is a bout a card game called Prime Wars. This game will include many of the selected works of the next prime publishing. One of my works was choosen to be part of this card game aswell, so if you are expecting to get the card set anytime soon you will have one of my robots as a mech in the game!. You can check everything related to the game, and even support it here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1794375019/p rime-wars

I decided to update my showreel, becuase the last one was way too old, and didn't show anything I am currently doing, so I took the chance to give it a new and fresh look

.
/* */
Im preparing something new for the next robot day, It will take 1 year of hard working aniation, but it will be worth the effort.

New works are coming, so stay tuned!!

Hope you guys enjoy the warming sun... ;)

Lately I have been going through one of those moments when you just can find enough tme to keep on working on your own personal projects, wich in my case are my paintings, and lastly but not less important, my animations. This doesn't include commisioned works, scince they are quite a big priority. Having a full 9 hour day time job is gradually pushing me to pospone things, wich are eventually finished, but I take the triple amount of time to complete a single one of them.
My concern is that this is serious shit, I've heard of many artists that dropped painting or animating because of their new job, and instantly makes me think about myself. I always knew, and still know that this will never happend to me, ever, but I'm still trying to find a way to rebalance my life in order to put Art on the "High Speed Road" again.
Luminiscense 2 has been postponed indefinitely, and I have 2 paintings that are begging to be finished.
>fuck-this-shit^
Mind to share your thoughts?

Here are some frequent questions I receve daily, on both Newgrounds and Youtube.
And here are my answers to those questions:

Why would germans atack an empty field?
Can't you just wait untill I make the next fucking episode, for fuck sake give me a break, everything will be explained there.

Im not sure If I should laugh or cry to this?
If you laugh to this you probably have issues.

Why do you take that much to make animations?
1 - I work, study, and sleep.
2 - Its only one person doing backgrounds, carachtrer design, animation, coloring, edition, script, direction, and effects.

If the charachters are french why don't they speak french?
Oh no problem, Im sure you speak, read, and listen french every single day so I guess you won't have trouble understanding what is happening on the next episode, when I hire french voice actors.

Where can I watch this?
You are joking right...?

When are you planing to release the next episode?
If everything goes well, on summer (US winter).

Wait!..The germans didn't excacly atack france during that year, why are you a liar!?
Im sure Tarantino will love to read your statement about his version of WW2.

Im sorry I just had to do this, those questions where getting way too repetitive and anoying.

Peace

-Keep

Hi there. Im opening this new journal to cast voice actors for my new movie.
This animation will be my next major work, it will be verry well animated, and it will have a verry deep story, so I will definetly need some good voice acting.
Please, keep in mind this will be a colaboration, I cant afford to pay at the moment, but you will appear in this movie as part of the crew, and the future rewards from the website will be shared.
I will leave you a screenshot of the movie, wich is something that may catch your attention, and possibly give you an idea or two about the charachters, and the situation in general. (hope you like it! :))

if you are intrested, please PM me, or send an email with your Demo to this account: facu_kw@hotmail.com

I only need 2 voices for this project, a male voice, and a female voice.
Once I selected the candidates, I will personally send you the script with the lines, and all the charachter description.

Thank you for your time and help! :)
